There's so much to do here at Upper Hawkins Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Little River Park is a great place for that. This lake is so wonderful. Don't miss out on a spree to Ocmulgee National Monument while you're here at Upper Hawkins Lake, and Upper Hawkins Lake is not far at all from Milledgeville. A nice nearby hotel is Days Inn Gray,       and while you're here, you could stop at Rock Creek. The Twin Bridges Trail offers hiking at its best, and paddling on Little River is so much fun. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Allison Lake Wildlife Trail, and Upper Hawkins Lake is not the only spot nearby, Lower Hawkins Lake is a nearby lake. For the period of the summertime, highs frequently are in the 90's at Upper Hawkins Lake, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The                  cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Upper Hawkins Lake.
