This is a perfect vicinity for folks who like lakes. Elder Lakes is a lake in the neighborhood, and whitewater paddling is fine on Big Cedar Creek. Stay the night at Cedar Creek Park, and a round of golf at nearby Cedar Valley Golf Course is a great way to kill some time. So much       fun stuff to do here at Upper Elder Lake, too great to be true. Esom Slough is a pretty stream that is worth visiting, and you might also want to pay a visit to Devils Darning Needle Hollow while you're here at Upper Elder Lake. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Upper Elder Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Rome-floyd County Recreation is a tremendous place for that, and Country Hearth Inn Cedartown is a brilliant place to get                  some rest. The fine people of Cedartown like to hang out nearby, and there's always Upper Elder Lake Dam to visit near Upper Elder Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Upper Elder Lake usually gets a great deal of precipitation; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and October on the other hand is the driest.
