Yellow River is a wonderful whitewater spot in the vicinity of Ub Lake Dam; if you need a site to stay Days Inn Conyers is a wonderful choice. The high level of precipitation makes Ub Lake Dam a relatively wet place; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain while September is regularly the driest month. If you came for an overnight stay Salem Campground is a tremendous site to camp, and lakes are such calm locations, why not check out Smiths

| | Lake. If only every location had this much outdoors enjoyable stuff, what a great earth it would be. There's some attention-grabbing stuff to catch a sight of at Georges Lake Dam right next door to Ub Lake Dam, and the sights at Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail will blow your mind.

in the 80's while night lows are frequently in the 60's. Highs during the winter are mostly in the 50's while Ub Lake Dam night low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 30's. Campwest Minster is a brilliant local campground,
and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites COVINGTON is a great place to spend a night or two.
If you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on South River.

| Putting in at Killian Hill Rd , the best white water is just down river from HWY 78 to the Yellow River Park. Beyond the park is unknown territory....Yellow river at Poterdale can get pretty tough after a good rain. Bring your A game!...water from 124 to porterdale is about 3 feet average in the summertime. lots of fun. easy river. clean too. lots of fallen trees in the water, great wildlife, snakes, turtles and fish. the dam in porterdale is easily passed adn the rapids following are verry shallow. email at coadydraven@yahoo.com with questions.... |
