After a long day outdoors Comfort Suites Downtown is a brilliant location to spend a night or two, and Twin Lakes is a pleasant location to visit for more than one day, Oconee River Campground and Picnic Area is a pleasant location to camp nearby. During the summer at Twin Lakes highs are regularly in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. During the winter highs are in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Twin

While you're here at Twin Lakes, you could also stop at stunning Thompson Lake; whitewater paddling is tremendous on Rose Creek. Don't leave Twin Lakes without first going for a hike along the Scull Shoals Trail, and get covered with water paddling on Apalachee River. All the water falling down from the sky makes Twin Lakes a wet spot; March is the month that gets the most rain while | |

October is commonly the driest month. Lots of folks from Athens-Clarke County come to Twin Lakes; Goulding Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth taking a look at. This lake is so wonderful. Hilton Garden Inn Athens
Downtown is a pleasant site to get some rest, and not far from Twin Lakes you acquire some nice water scenery at Lake Oglethorpe Dam. Go for a hike on the Mounds Trail, and do have a look at Lake Oglethorpe, it's a pretty lake.
This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Falling Camp Trail is always a good adventure; you can stay the night at Pine Lake RV Campground.
