Crooked Creek flows through this region, and if you need a site to stay Atlanta-Days Inn Douglasville/Fairburn Road is a nice choice. Greystone Golf Course is a golf course close to Turnipseed Lake, and a tour to Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail is worthwhile. Whohoo, so much cool stuff in one place! Turnipseed Lake rules! Monroe Lake Dam is an exciting thing to check       out, and get your heart beating on the nice whitewater of Tanyard Branch. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Annewakee River, and Quality Inn Douglasville is a delightful location to get some rest. This is a pleasant area for folks who like lakes. Leatherwood Lake is a lake close at hand, and if you came for an overnight stay Arrowhead Campground is a tremendous site to camp. This lake is so wonderful. All                  through the warmest time of the year highs here at Turnipseed Lake get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 60's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 40's while Turnipseed Lake overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 20's. You're possibly keen on lakes, Barney Lake is one of those nearby, and why not camp at Sweetwater Creek State Park while you're here at Turnipseed Lake.
