After a long day outdoors Days Inn Jackson is a brilliant spot to spend a night or two, and don't leave Treadwell Lake without first going for a hike along the Ocmulgee River Trail. Treadwell Lake is a wet place that gets a good deal of precipitation; throughout the month of March you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is September. | | place to camp nearby, and get soaked paddling on South River. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Kinnard Horse Trail, and Island Shoals is a pleasant location to explore. Through the months of summer, highs frequently are in the 80's at Treadwell Lake. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 60's.  | Putting in at Killian Hill Rd , the best white water is just down river from HWY 78 to the Yellow River Park. Beyond the park is unknown territory....Yellow river at Poterdale can get pretty tough after a good rain. Bring your A game!...water from 124 to porterdale is about 3 feet average in the summertime. lots of fun. easy river. clean too. lots of fallen trees in the water, great wildlife, snakes, turtles and fish. the dam in porterdale is easily passed adn the rapids following are verry shallow. email at coadydraven@yahoo.com with questions.... |
