If you like lakes and you're in this part of Georgia you can check out Toombs Lake. Toombs Lake Dam is a location that is close to Toombs Lake; you'll locate a gorgeous lake called Bear Lake. A good deal of rainfall falls at Toombs Lake; the month with most of the rain is March, and the driest month of the year is September. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is fine on Apalachee River, and the Scull Shoals Trail offers hiking at its best.

| | a little trip to Ellison Creek if you're here at Toombs Lake; Oconee River Campground and Picnic Area is a perfect campground here. That right there is a load already, but it continues; Toombs Lake has it all. Hiking along the Falling Camp Trail is tremendous fun; you can stay the night at North Shore Resort.

highs are commonly in the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Toombs Lake. In case you don’t mind getting
drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rose Creek, and dry warm beds await you at Microtel Inns & Suites.
There are plenty of folks from Athens-Clarke County here at Toombs Lake; if you need a spot to stay Butler Motor Inn is a magnificent choice.
