A lovely lake like Bear Lake near Toombs Lake is a nice place to explore; Rose Creek has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby. Toombs Lake is a pretty wet place generally with a lot of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is mostly March, that's the one that rains the most; September       meanwhile is the driest month. There is a magnificent hiking trail right next door to Toombs Lake called the Scull Shoals Trail. If you want a good time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Toombs Lake. After a long day outdoors Jameson Inn Greensboro is a delightful place to spend a night or two, and there are plenty of people from Athens-Clarke County here at Toombs Lake. Paddling on Apalachee River is so much fun, and if you're looking for some                  flowing water? Try Ellison Creek. Toombs Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day, Oconee River Campground and Picnic Area is a great place to camp nearby, and a visit to Toombs Lake wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Watson Spring. Summertime highs at Toombs Lake mostly tend to be in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 50's with temperatures at Toombs Lake dipping down into the 30's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful.
