If you like lakes and you're in this part of Georgia you can check out Thurmond Lake. At Thurmond Lake all through the summer months highs are in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Thurmond Lake temperatures fall to the 20's. | | you can run the rapids of Big Creek. The high level of rainfall makes Thurmond Lake a quite wet place; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily March, that's the one that rains the most, and October on the other hand is the driest.

If you get bored of Thurmond Lake, you could also visit nearby Almond Lake, and obviously, all
our national parks are fine spots to explore and Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area is no exception. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Twin Lakes Park is always a good experience, and playing golf is lots of fun at Woodmont
Golf Club. So much entertaining stuff close to Thurmond Lake, absolutely mind-boggling. A wonderful place to camp here at Thurmond Lake is Marietta Campground, and a good spot for whitewater paddling is Amicalola Creek.
