A splendid location for whitewater paddling close to Thornton Lake is Chattahoochee River; if you came for an overnight stay Lake Pines Camp Ground is a perfect spot to camp. For the duration of the long summer days highs here at Thornton Lake get into the 90's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows       in the 30's to Thornton Lake. Anthony's Mobile Park is a nice campground nearby. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a perfect time here at Thornton Lake. Lakes are such serene spots, why not have a look at Bull Creek Reservoir Number One close to Thornton Lake; during your visit here you'll meet some folks from Columbus for sure. This lake is so wonderful. If you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Mulberry Creek, and                  there are other places here than Thornton Lake, for example Lake Pines. The high level of precipitation makes Thornton Lake a rather wet place; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily July, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is October. After a long day outdoors WYNDHAM GARDEN COLUMBUS is a good place to spend a night or two, and if you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Bull Creek Golf Course is close at hand.
