West Steward Lake Dam has perfect water scenery and it's right next door to Thompson Lake, and a visit to Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail is worthwhile. Thompson Lake generally gets a lot of rainfall; through the month of March you get the most rain around here, and October is when it's       the driest. This lake is so wonderful. A wonderful spot for whitewater paddling in the vicinity of Thompson Lake is Hurricane Creek, and if you came for an overnight stay South Oaks Manufactured Home is a great location to camp. So much fun stuff to do at Thompson Lake, so little time. You can run the rapids of Line Creek close to Thompson Lake; after a long day outdoors Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center is a great place to spend a night or two. Lakes are                  splendid; Robinson Lake is a lake that's near Thompson Lake, and golf can be played at Summergrove Golf Club. Papillon Resort and RV Campground is a fine campground nearby. All through the summer months at Thompson Lake highs are ordinarily in the 80's while overnight lows are typically in the 60's.
