Some of the water close by flows, like Yellowbank Creek, and the Whitly Gap Trail is a brilliant hiking trail close by. You absolutely should adore Thomas Pond. If you come at the right time of year, Mud Creek offers                  some good whitewater, and if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. All the water falling down from the sky makes Thomas Pond a wet spot; the month with most of the rain is March; the driest of the months is October. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Ellers Lake, and a delightful nearby hotel is Comfort Inn Cornelia. This lake is so wonderful. Drift down the rapids of Chattahoochee River in a kayak.
