Telephone Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. If you come at the right time of year, Annewakee River offers some tremendous whitewater, and the scenery at Horsehead Lake Dam is wonderful. There are some glorious whitewater spots on Tanyard Branch, and Telephone Lake is not the only location close by, Demooney Lake is a close by lake. | | colder of course, typically in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Telephone Lake dipping down into the 20's during winter nights.

South Oaks Manufactured Home is a wonderful local campground.
After a long day outdoors Sleep Inn Fairburn is a great location to spend a night or two, and if you get bored of Telephone Lake you could also stop by close by Twin
Lakes. Telephone Lake is a pretty wet place usually with a great deal of rainfall; March is the wettest month with most rain; the driest of the months is October.
