Go to Teague Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. Near Teague Lake you hit upon the Bear Creek Trail which is a fine hiking trail, and you're in all probability into lakes, Nalls Lake is one of those nearby. One of the overriding features of the surroundings of Teague Lake is Talona Mountain, and there are fine sites to look at along the Tearbritches Trail. In the event that you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cartecay

| | River, and Talona Creek Campground is a perfect campground nearby.
This lake is so wonderful. This is a good area for people who like lakes. McCuller Lake is a lake close by, and a brilliant close by hotel is Best Western Mountain View Inn. If you want a perfect time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Teague Lake. Going for a hike on the Mountaintown Creek Trail is always a nice adventure; whitewater paddling is nice on Clear Creek. Teague Lake commonly | |

gets much rain; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain, and October is the month with the least moisture.
During the days of summer highs here at Teague Lake get into the 80's, and throughout the night
it cools down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Teague Lake are in the 20's. Nelly Plum Campground is a good local campground; after a long day outdoors Microtel Inn and Suites Jasper is a good place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful.

| The General Store @ Eagle Mtn. now has Villa rentals to add to the enjoyment of paddling the Coosawattee, and can provide shuttle service to and from the river. Its a great place to spend the day, and now, you can even spend several days if you wish. Check them out!!...Ran the kayak trip from the General Store this past Memorial Day weekend it was great.The Store was full of customers, but they tried to make everyone feel very special. ...osting at Lake Conasauga for the last few years I am very upset about the way people are treating the facilities offered there. As this area grows in popularity, and more and more people use it, I am saddened by the way this beautiful lake and mountian is being abused and trashed. The catch phrase ''Leave only your footprints'' applies to all US National Forests for a reason. One can only assume that you use this camping area for it's beauty and freshness, so why then do so many people leave it in such a mess? To have to pick up over 50 bags of trash, often left scattered about after a non-holiday weekend, is unreasonable. I don't mean to rant or nag, but, it isn't that hard to put a grocery bag in you pocket when fishing along the lake trail and walk out with the trash you create. The hosts in most camp grounds are volunteers and are unpaid. They pay for all of their own expenses to be there in order to keep the grounds and restrooms clean and stocked. So, PLEASE, read and obey the rules posted. Few places are as beautiful as our National Parks, please lets all make that small effor... |
