If you are in this part of Georgia make sure to pay a visit to Taylors Pond. At Taylors Pond during the long summer days highs are in the 90's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's, and night lows at Taylors Pond through the wintertime mostly plunge into the 30's. If you came for an overnight stay Ponderosa Campgrounds is a pleasant site to camp, and a great nearby hotel

| | is Fort Valley Days Inn And Suites. This lake is so wonderful. Comfort Inn Byron is a good site to get some rest, and hey, Indian Creek is a great local stream. Camping at Taylors Pond is nice fun, Crossroads Travel Park is a nice local campground. Taylors Pond sees pretty high levels of rainfall; most of the rain falls throughout March; October meanwhile is the driest month. Ocmulgee National Monument is one of the destinations right next door to Taylors Pond that are good to go to, and lots of folks from Fort Valley come here.
