You'll meet a lot of folks from Athens-Clarke County here, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Tap Lake; Falling Camp Trail is a glorious local trail. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Madison, and good hiking is available along the Mounds Trail. Summertime at Tap Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Creek. A fine location to camp here at Tap Lake is Pine Lake RV Campground, and there are other spots here than Tap Lake, for example Lake Rossie.
