The Ocmulgee River Trail is a good hiking trail right next door to Stroup Lake; if you're here and you like golf, you can stop at Georgia National Golf Club. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Stroup Lake that
you need to camp here for a while, Mount Bethel Campground is a perfect site for that; Yellow River has a good whitewater paddling spot close by. For the duration of the long summer days here at Stroup Lake, high temperatures usually

Beyond the park is unknown territory....Yellow river at Poterdale can get pretty tough after a good rain. Bring your A game!...water from 124 to porterdale is about 3 feet average in the summertime. lots of fun. easy river. clean too. lots of fallen trees in the water, great wildlife, snakes, turtles and fish. the dam in porterdale is easily passed adn the rapids following are verry shallow. email at coadydraven@yahoo.com with questions.... |
