Don't forget to take a great little trip to New Hope Branch; dry warm beds await you at Best Western Executive Inn. The warmest time of the year at Storys Millpond comes with high temperatures in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 60's. For  
   the duration of the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 50's while Storys Millpond overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 20's. Why not camp at Fox Hollow Camp Ground if you're here at Storys Millpond.

There are two open spillway dams between the Hwy 28 (Fury's Ferry) Bridge and I-20: Stevens Creek Dam (at the confluence of Stevens Creek) and the Augusta Canal Diversion Dam (about a mile downstream of Stevens Creek Dam). There are no marked access points immediately on either side of either dam. Georgia Power Co. operates an electric generating facility on the Georgia (south) bank at Stevens Creek. At the Canal, since the canal immediately parallels the river some twenty feet above it, there is no river access whatsoever on the Georgia side. Portage would be recommended along private land on the South Carolina side of both dams....
