Glide down the rapids of Yellow River in a kayak, and most likely you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Covington Reservoir is just a very short distance away. During the long summer days highs here at Stone Lea Lake reach the 80's with night lows in the 60's.  | Putting in at Killian Hill Rd , the best white water is just down river from HWY 78 to the Yellow River Park. Beyond the park is unknown territory....Yellow river at Poterdale can get pretty tough after a good rain. Bring your A game!...water from 124 to porterdale is about 3 feet average in the summertime. lots of fun. easy river. clean too. lots of fallen trees in the water, great wildlife, snakes, turtles and fish. the dam in porterdale is easily passed adn the rapids following are verry shallow. email at coadydraven@yahoo.com with questions.... |
