Get yourself into a kayak and hit Amicalola Creek; there are other spots here than Stephens Lake, for example Almond Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Stephens Lake gets a large amount of water; March is when you get the most rain here; the driest month is October. At Stephens Lake all through the warm months highs are in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's. The wintertime       comes with highs in the 40's while Stephens Lake overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 20's. Camping at Marietta Campground is always a fine experience, and enjoy a round of golf at Woodmont Golf Club. Here at Stephens Lake you'll perhaps meet some folks from Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta; Springhill Suites Atlanta/Alpharetta is a pleasant spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Stephens Lake is great enough to spend more                  than a day at, Twin Lakes Park is a great local campground, and why not stop by Bryon Dam while you're here. If you need a place to stay Doubletree Hotel Atlanta/Alpharetta-Windward is a great choice, and nearby you stumble on the Brookshire Creek Trail which is a glorious hiking trail. Whohoo, so many cool things in one place! Stephens Lake rules!
