    Do stop by Steel Lake while you're in this part of Georgia. There's always North Fork Broad River Structure Three Dam to stop by in close proximity to Steel Lake, and if you came for an overnight stay Toccoa Rv Park & Campground is a great site to camp. The Bartram Trail is a magnificent hiking trail next to Steel Lake. During the summertime at Steel Lake temperatures are typically in the 80's, and the night is fairly cooler of course, generally in the 60's.  
   For the duration of the winter highs are in the 50's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Steel Lake.
Not far from Steel Lake, you'll hit upon Collins Lake which is a pretty lake, and at Steel Lake you can make out Rock Quarry Mountain. Steel Lake usually gets a lot of precipitation; most of the rain falls throughout March while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Lakes? Sure, North Fork Broad River is in the neighborhood;
 
               get your heart beating on the perfect whitewater of Big Panther Creek.
This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Toccoa Days Inn is a brilliant place to spend a night or two; some nearby water includes Carnes Creek. This lake is so wonderful. If you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Toccoa City Golf Course is in close proximity, and you can run the rapids of Brasstown Creek. If the weather is fine here at Steel Lake, you can go for a hike along the Chattooga Trail, and Country Hearth Inn Toccoa is a good place to get some rest.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Hazel Creek RV Park is a glorious campground nearby, and you're sure to stumble upon some smiling people from Toccoa here.

...as projected to exceed 100 years. Silt accumulation after 20 years was approximately .5 inche. Normal elevation is apporximately 800'. Feeder streams maintain lake levels even during extended periods of insufficient rainfall and at the same time provide spill into the exiting stream bed.
The lake has been pulled down during periods of heavy construction of highways across the feeder streams to allow silt to return to the streams and pass thru thedrain gates.
Buena Vista Dr crosses the lake in two places; one being the main dam and again on the Coe Branch inlet. Original construction of dams accommodated these crossings.
Over the years sport fishing has been excellent with large mouth Bass, Crappie, Brem, Pike And Catfish, however fishing is limited due to private ownership of property including the lake basin.

Hi!? I am looking for information.? Recently, I have been going thru old black and white photos that belong to my grandmother.? I have several dozen that are dated Easter Sunday, 1945 (April 1st).? I have being attempting determine the location where these pics were taken.? The only thing grandmother can remember is a name:? Panther Creek Park.? She thought it was somewhere around Corniela.? I found this web page while doing a search for it.? I have included some pics.? The most obvious feature in a lot of this photos is a round brick object that people seemed to spend a lot of time lounging around.? I don't know what to actually call it.? Is this the right park??...
