All the outdoors entertaining things in the vicinity of Starnes Lake will keep you coming back over and over. Glide down the rapids of Marsh Creek in a kayak, and Hotel Sierra Suites Alpharetta is a glorious place to get some rest. Camping is available at Twin Lakes Park, and enjoy a round of golf at Crooked Creek Golf Club. Do go to Copeland Lake in the vicinity of Starnes Lake, it's a       gorgeous lake, and popping by Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area is just something you need to do if you haven't yet. Starnes Lake usually gets a lot of precipitation; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain while September is regularly the driest month. Starnes Dam is worth going to while you're here, and there are plenty of folks from Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta here. Throughout the summertime months at Starnes Lake highs are                  commonly in the 80's with night lows in the 60's. Through the winter highs are regularly in the 40's with temperatures at Starnes Lake dipping down into the 20's throughout winter nights. Going for a hike on the Brookshire Creek Trail is always a great adventure, and paddling on Big Creek is so much fun. This lake is so wonderful.
