Stay the night at Pirkle Campground, and a fine place for whitewater paddling is Little Towaliga River. Spalamar Lake is a relatively wet place mostly with a great deal of precipitation; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and October on the other hand is the driest. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. Enjoy a round of golf at Morgan's Dairy Golf Club not far from Spalamar Lake; why       not take a look at Spalamar Lake Dam while you're here. Here at Spalamar Lake there are plenty of people from Thomaston, and some of the water close by flows, like Grape Creek. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Spalamar Lake that you need to camp here for a while, High Falls Campground is a wonderful place for that, and dry warm beds await you at Griffin Inn and Suites. After a long day outdoors Iris Inn is a tremendous spot                  to spend a night or two; you can run the rapids of Towaliga River. Summer at Spalamar Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's.
