Smythe Lake is a nice lake to visit. This lake is so wonderful. This is a great area for folks who like lakes. Getter Lake is a lake close at hand; not far from Smythe Lake you acquire some great water scenery at Lake Hills Estates Dam. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Bear Creek; if you need a site to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Chattanooga-Lookout Mtn, Tn is a tremendous choice. March, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is June. There are some fine whitewater spots on Daniel Creek, and Air Castle Golf Club is a good golf course close by. This lake is so wonderful. Since you
might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at nearby Dyer Lake; since you're here you can take a hike along the Skyuka Trail. A short trip to Taylor Spring is always worthwhile; Range Point is a good place to stop
at while in the neighborhood. And if that's not sufficient, there's a heap more to do near Smythe Lake. There's so much to do here at Smythe Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lookout Mountain/Chattanooga West KOA is a good
site for that, and lots of people from Chattanooga come here. Visiting Russell Cave National Monument is just something you need to do if you haven't yet; Range Gap is another great spot to have a look at close by. Summertime
at Smythe Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 60's. All through the winter highs are in the 40's, and nighttime lows all through the winter for Smythe Lake tend to be in the 20's.
