What a nice lake Smith Lake is. A lot of precipitation falls at Smith Lake; the month with most of the rain is March, and the driest month of the year is October. Now, you may believe that's heaps but there's even more cool stuff to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. If you're popping by Smith Lake from Gainesville, you won't be the only one, and going for a hike on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail is always a magnificent adventure. Throughout the summer
