La Quinta Inn AND Suites Atlanta Conyers is a delightful place to get some rest; East View Lake Dam has glorious water scenery. High temperatures at Smith Lake during the summertime are in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Smith Lake dipping down into the 20's all through winter nights. Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail is a very perfect location to stop at in close proximity

After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites ATLANTA-CONYERS is a fine place to spend a night or two. Smith Lake sees pretty high levels of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is March; October is when it's the driest. This is no site for people who don’t like to have a good time. Lake, and a round of golf at nearby Highland Golf Club is a nice way to kill some time. If you came for an overnight stay Salem Campground is a splendid location to camp, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always
visit close by East View Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Campwest Minster while you're here at Smith Lake, and it's a perfect idea to stop at Boar Tusk Branch.

Beyond the park is unknown territory....Yellow river at Poterdale can get pretty tough after a good rain. Bring your A game!...water from 124 to porterdale is about 3 feet average in the summertime. lots of fun. easy river. clean too. lots of fallen trees in the water, great wildlife, snakes, turtles and fish. the dam in porterdale is easily passed adn the rapids following are verry shallow. email at coadydraven@yahoo.com with questions.... |
