If you are in this part of Georgia make sure to pay a visit to Smith Lake. There are some tremendous whitewater spots on Dog River. Execustay By Marriott is a good site to get some rest; a journey to Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail is recommended. All the water falling down from the sky makes Smith Lake a wet location; March is the wettest month with most rain while October is typically the driest month.

A quick tour to Basket Creek in the neighborhood of Smith Lake is a splendid idea, and after a long day outdoors Sleep Inn Douglasville is a
good location to spend a night or two. Now, you may think that's heaps but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here at Smith Lake. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Smith Lake has to offer, you can camp at Arrowhead Campground; do take a look at Basket Creek Lake, it's a delightful lake.
