This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Stevens Creek is so much fun, and Smith Lake is not the only location close by, Pollards Lake is a close by lake. All the water falling down from the sky makes Smith Lake a wet place; most of the rain falls throughout January, and October is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. People from Augusta-Richmond       County love to come to Smith Lake. Through the days of summer, highs typically are in the 90's at Smith Lake. Summer night lows dip down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 50's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Smith Lake temperatures plunge to the 30's. Have a perfect hiking adventure along the Turkey Creek Hiking Trail, and Smith Lake Dam is not far at all from Smith Lake. Best Western Evans Hotel is a fine                  location to get some rest, and Smith Lake is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Hamilton Branch Campground is a tremendous local campground. And if that's not enough, there's a heap more to do near Smith Lake. Whitewater paddling is nice on Savannah River, and since you're here, you could visit Delph Branch.
