Sky Valley Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Andy's Trout Farm is a fine local campground, and picturesque scenery and glorious skiing is what you get at Scaly Mountain. Yeah, come up here to the Blue Ridge Mountains for a great time. In case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on       Darnell Creek; at Sky Valley Lake you can distinguish Alex Mountain. Be careful coming to the Blue Ridge Mountains, you might not ever wanna go home again. Take a little trip to Jake Branch since you're here at Sky Valley Lake; camping at River Vista Mountain Village is always a delightful experience. This lake is so wonderful. That right there is a heap of enjoyable things already but it goes on, the Blue Ridge Mountains has it all. While staying at Sky                  Valley Lake you could always look at Alex Gap, and you can go for a hike on the Gage Trail. Summertime highs at Sky Valley Lake usually tend to be in the 80's.
