Not far from Skull Lake, you'll find Mud Lake which is a stunning lake; you'll almost certainly meet some folks from Waycross here. Summer brings highs in the 90's to Skull Lake. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 70's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 60's; winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Skull       Lake. Camping is available at Rustic Wagon RV Campground and Cabins. All the water falling down from the sky makes Skull Lake a wet site; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and October meanwhile is the driest month. This is no place for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. A great spot to camp here at Skull Lake is Lazy Acres Mobile Park and RV, and if you need a spot to stay Waycross-Days Inn is a glorious choice. Going for a hike                  on the Indian Trail is always a delightful adventure. Lakes are perfect; Turkey Scratch Lake is a lake that's close to Skull Lake. There are splendid places to explore along the Okefenokee Wilderness Canoe Trail, and a good swamp near Skull Lake is Cowhouse Prairie.
