| | is a brilliant hiking trail close to Sims Lake, and in case you don’t mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Mossy Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail is always a tremendous adventure. is pleasant on Chattahoochee River, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Cornelia here. Cornelia-Days Inn is a magnificent site to get some rest, and why not camp at Union Grove Campground while you're here at Sims Lake. All through
the summertime highs here at Sims Lake get into the 80's, and the nighttime is a little chillier of course, typically in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's while the cold winter nights at Sims Lake are in the 20's.
A great deal of precipitation falls at Sims Lake; March is the wettest month with most rain; October is the month with the least moisture.
