Through the warmest time of the year at Sims Lake temperatures are commonly in the 80's, and the overnight is somewhat cooler of course, commonly in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's; after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Sims Lake sink into the 20's. Sims Lake is a rather wet place usually       with much precipitation; the wettest month of the year is frequently March, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is June. This lake is so wonderful. Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Sugar Hill Golf Club. Get covered with water paddling on Yellow River, and Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area is one of the destinations that are pleasant to stop by nearby. This lake is so wonderful. There's so                  much to do here at Sims Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Sawnee Campground is a magnificent site for that, and if you've had enough of Sims Lake, Number Gate Lake is nearby. If you need a location to stay Best Western Gwinnett Inn is a brilliant choice, also Sims Lake Dam is worth stopping at if you're here. If you're popping by Sims Lake from Gainesville, you won't be the only one, and you can go for a hike on the Brookshire Creek Trail.
