Get soaked paddling on Annewakee River, and almost certainly you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Clark Lake is just a very short distance away. For the period of the warm months, highs typically are in the 80's at Shues Lake. Summer night lows descend down to the 60's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Shues Lake are in the 20's. Groovers       Lake Dam is beautiful and it's close to Shues Lake, and after a long day outdoors Quality Inn Douglasville is a pleasant site to spend a night or two. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Shues Lake. Shues Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Arrowhead Campground is a great local campground, and dry warm beds await you at Atlanta-Days Inn Douglasville/Fairburn Road. Shues Lake gets lots of water; March is when you get the most                  rain here; the driest month of the year is October. If time allows, Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail is a national park worth a visit. Here at Shues Lake you'll probably meet some people from Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta, and enjoy a round of golf at Greystone Golf Course.
