Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail is a nice local destination here at Shoal Creek Lake, and a perfect site for whitewater paddling is Line Creek. While you're here at Shoal Creek Lake you will meet lots of people from close by Thomaston, and camping at Atlanta South Campground is always a good experience. Just can't get enough of Shoal Creek Lake. You can take a little visit to Shoal Creek Lake Dam       if you're here at Shoal Creek Lake, and if you need a site to stay Griffin Inn and Suites is a good choice. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn & Suites, and if you came to camp Pirkle Campground is a good spot to do that. Shoal Creek Lake is a relatively wet place ordinarily with much rainfall; the month with most of the rain is March, and September on the other hand is the driest. Through the days of summer, highs mostly                  are in the 80's at Shoal Creek Lake. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 60's.
