Why not camp at Plum Nelly Campground since you're here at Shaw Lake, and you can go for a hike on the South Fork Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Shaw Lake is great fun, Lake Blue Ridge Campground is a great local campground; if you're a golfer then a nice close by course is Whitepath Golf Club &. If the weather is pretty, you obtain a delightful view of Big Hill from Shaw       Lake; Best Western Mountain View Inn is a fine location to get some rest. The high level of rain makes Shaw Lake a quite wet place; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is October. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Cartecay River, and why not take a little trip to Amy Creek since you're here. Get soaked paddling on Mountaintown Creek, and you're perhaps addicted to lakes, Fowler Lake is one of those                  close by. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Benton McKaye Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn & Suites. And if you're still looking for more outdoors cool things just keep reading.
