Lakes are such calm spots, why not take a look at Weehunt Lake near Shaw Lake, and obviously Amy Creek is a wonderful stream that is worth visiting. Get your heart pumping on the good whitewater of Mountaintown Creek, and there's wonderful hiking along the Benton McKaye Trail. After a long day outdoors Ramada Limited Of Blue Ridge is a great place to spend a night or two; Big Hill       can be distinguished from Shaw Lake. Shaw Lake generally gets lots of rain; March is the wettest month with most rain, and October meanwhile is the driest month. Good hiking is available along the South Fork Trail, and camping at Plum Nelly Campground is always a splendid experience. Whohoo, so many exciting things in one place! Shaw Lake is unbeatable! Don't leave Shaw Lake without first going for a hike along the Tearbritches Trail; there's always Shaw                  Lake Dam to visit in close proximity to Shaw Lake. Through the summer months here at Shaw Lake, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and night lows through the winter for Shaw Lake tend to be in the 20's. Near Shaw Lake you hit upon Augerhole Gap which is a pleasant place to take a look at. This lake is so wonderful. Whitepath Golf Club & is a golf course near Shaw Lake, and a pleasant location for whitewater paddling is Cartecay River.
