At Shaw Lake throughout the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's,       and nighttime lows at Shaw Lake during the wintertime generally dip into the 20's. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors exciting stuff the area in close proximity to Shaw Lake has to offer. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such serene locations, why not visit Jones Lake in the vicinity of Shaw Lake, and you can run the rapids of Mountaintown Creek. All the water falling down from the sky makes Shaw Lake a wet place; of all the months in a                  year March is the one with the most rain while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. There is a delightful hiking trail near Shaw Lake called the Benton McKaye Trail. There's so much to do here at Shaw Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Plum Nelly Campground is a brilliant spot for that. A beautiful lake like Fowler Lake near Shaw Lake is a great site to stop at; a splendid place for whitewater paddling is Cartecay River. Shaw Lake really is in the middle of a picturesque outdoors paradise. If you need a site to stay Best Western Mountain View Inn is a great choice, and on a delightful day you can take a hike along the South Fork Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Shaw Lake Dam is an exciting thing to check out. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Shaw Lake has to offer, you can camp at Nelly Plum Campground.
