There's so much to do here at Shady Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Mc Donald Koa Kampground is a magnificent place for that; soar down the rapids of Mill Creek in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Shady       Lake you will meet lots of people from nearby Dalton; you acquire a good sight of Gobblers Knob from here. For you golfers we recommend close by Nob North Golf Course, and Super 8 Motel Dalton is a good location to get some rest. You completely have to love Shady Lake. If you come at the right time of year, Conasauga River offers some delightful whitewater, and don't leave Shady Lake without first paying a visit to Blue Spring. Huckleberry Pond is a nearby                  lake that you could stop by, and if you came to camp Ringgold Koa Kampground is a great place to do that. For the period of the long summer days at Shady Lake temperatures are regularly in the 80's, and the overnight is a bit chillier of course, usually in the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are regularly in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Shady Lake temperatures drop to the 20's. This lake is so wonderful.
