Clarks Creek is close to Shady Lake and is always a diversion to check out, and dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel Lavonia. Reservoir 33 is a nearby lake that you could go to, and if you need a spot to stay Sleep Inn Lavonia is a glorious choice. You can run the rapids of Rice Creek near Shady Lake. There's so much to do here at Shady Lake that you need to camp here for a while,       Poplar Springs Campgrounds is a good place for that. This lake is so wonderful. Shady Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Sunset Campground is a nice local campground, and you'll in all probability meet some folks from Toccoa here. A large amount of precipitation falls at Shady Lake; March is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is October.
