So many enjoyable things to do at Sawnee Lake, so little time. Visiting Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area is just something you need to do if you haven't yet, and as expected, this is a tremendous neighborhood for folks who like lakes, Cumming Twin Lakes is a lake nearby. Bentley Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth a visit; Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta North/Alpharetta is a pleasant spot to       get some rest. Why not camp at Twin Lakes Park since you're here at Sawnee Lake; if the weather is glorious, you can go for a hike along the Brookshire Creek Trail. After a long day outdoors Comfort Suites Cumming is a magnificent site to spend a night or two, and probably you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Cumming Twin Lake Number One is just a very short distance away. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Settingdown Creek                  offers some fine whitewater, and Sawnee Lake is not far at all from Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Amicalola Creek; Sawnee Campground is a splendid local campground. For the duration of the warm months, highs typically are in the 80's at Sawnee Lake. During the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are usually in the 40's; overnight lows in the 20's for Sawnee Lake. This lake is so wonderful. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can pop by Sawnee Lake Dam, and an afternoon playing golf at Crooked Creek Golf Club is always a diversion.
