All the water falling down from the sky makes Sanders Lake a wet place; during March this area sees the most rain while October is commonly the driest month. Econo Lodge Forsyth is a tremendous place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Best Western Hilltop Inn is a tremendous choice; hiking is a popular thing to do around Sanders Lake; Ocmulgee       River Trail is a magnificent local trail. During the summer months here at Sanders Lake, high temperatures regularly reach the 80's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 60's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 50's with temperatures at Sanders Lake dipping down into the 30's during winter nights. Sanders Dam is lovely and it's next to Sanders Lake, and there are plenty of people from Thomaston here. Cole Creek is a brilliant local stream; there                  are some nice whitewater spots on Little Towaliga River. Camping at Heart of Georgia RV Park is always a glorious experience; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Towaliga River. If only every location had this much outdoors enjoyable stuff, what a great globe it would be.
