There's so much to do here at Sand Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Okefenokee Pastimes is a nice location for that. So much exciting stuff to do here at Sand Lake, too good to be true. There are swamps here too; Redbird Prairie is nearby. A lake nearby is Log Lake; if the weather is delightful, you can go for a hike along the Okefenokee Wilderness Canoe Trail. At Sand Lake       all through the long summer days highs are in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 60's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Sand Lake tend to be in the 30's. The Indian Trail is a glorious hiking trail next to Sand Lake, and Best Western Bradbury Inn & Suites is a good place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Traders Hill Recreation Area, and after                  a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Waycross is a great site to spend a night or two.
