There's whitewater on South River for all you adrenaline kick people, and camping is available at Campwest Minster. A splendid spot to camp here at Salem Lake is Salem Campground, and enjoy a round of golf at Highland Golf Club. This lake is so wonderful. Lake is easy. The high level of rain makes Salem Lake a relatively wet spot; March is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is September. At Salem Lake throughout the summertime months highs are in the 80's.
During the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Salem Lake.

 | Putting in at Killian Hill Rd , the best white water is just down river from HWY 78 to the Yellow River Park. Beyond the park is unknown territory....Yellow river at Poterdale can get pretty tough after a good rain. Bring your A game!...water from 124 to porterdale is about 3 feet average in the summertime. lots of fun. easy river. clean too. lots of fallen trees in the water, great wildlife, snakes, turtles and fish. the dam in porterdale is easily passed adn the rapids following are verry shallow. email at coadydraven@yahoo.com with questions.... |
