If you get bored of Rosebud Lake, you could also have a look at close by Rosedale Pond, and there's some out of the ordinary stuff to see at Rosedale Lake Dam in close proximity to Rosebud Lake. There's whitewater on Savannah River for all you adrenaline kick people; dry warm beds await you at Econo Lodge Fort Gordon. This lake is so wonderful. Lake during the summertime months are in the 90's with overnight lows in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Rosebud Lake. Fox Hollow Camp Ground is a perfect campground nearby; Rosebud Lake is not far at all from Augusta-Richmond County. A lake close by is Wades Lake.

Savannah River
 | There are two open spillway dams between the Hwy 28 (Fury's Ferry) Bridge and I-20: Stevens Creek Dam (at the confluence of Stevens Creek) and the Augusta Canal Diversion Dam (about a mile downstream of Stevens Creek Dam). There are no marked access points immediately on either side of either dam. Georgia Power Co. operates an electric generating facility on the Georgia (south) bank at Stevens Creek. At the Canal, since the canal immediately parallels the river some twenty feet above it, there is no river access whatsoever on the Georgia side. Portage would be recommended along private land on the South Carolina side of both dams.... |
