If you come at the right time of year, Amicalola Creek offers some brilliant whitewater. Roberts Lake is not the only place close by, Bartholomew Lake is a close by lake, and why not a little side trip to Long Swamp Creek. Roberts Lake typically gets a good deal of rainfall; through the       month of March you get the most rain around here, and October is the month with the least moisture. A lake close by is Georgia Marble Company Lake, and Roberts Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Under the Hemlock is a good local campground. And if that's not enough, there's lots more to do in the neighborhood of Roberts Lake. On a delightful day at Roberts Lake you can take a hike along the Brookshire Creek Trail, and get yourself into a kayak                  and hit Long Swamp Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Homestead Inn is a glorious site to get some rest, and if you're looking for a splendid visit, Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area is quite near. At Roberts Lake all through the long summer days highs are in the 80's, and the nighttime is a little colder of course, mostly in the 60's.
