After a long day outdoors Downtowner Inns Claxton is a delightful spot to spend a night or two; Richards Pond is not the only site nearby, De Loach Pond is a nearby lake. Summertime highs at Richards Pond regularly tend to be in the 90's; the overnight is slightly chillier of course, frequently in the 70's. Through the wintertime the highs are typically       in the 60's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Richards Pond. Richards Pond is a wet spot that gets a lot of rain; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is November. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Tattnall Campground since you're here at Richards Pond, and if you need a spot to stay Scottish Inns - Register is a good choice.
