North Broad River Structure Number Five Dam is an attention-grabbing thing to check out, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Rice Creek. Reservoir Five gets a good deal of water; March is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month of the year is October. If you're stopping by Reservoir Five from Toccoa, you won't be the only one, and if you get bored of Reservoir Five you could also explore nearby Reservoir 33. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp

Now, you may assume that's lots but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Reservoir Five. If you come at the right time of year, Shoal Creek offers some wonderful whitewater, and a good nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites LAVONIA. moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are generally in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Reservoir Five. Camping is available at Poplar Springs Campgrounds, and Sleep Inn Lavonia is a glorious place to get some rest.

Stonecypher Lake
 | ...h and Coe Branch. This lake is located on the farm lands of Palmer Simpson Stonecypher and was constructed in the mid 1950's. The shorelines are constant except in times of heavy rainfall and original life of lake was projected to exceed 100 years. Silt accumulation after 20 years was approximately .5 inche. Normal elevation is apporximately 800'. Feeder streams maintain lake levels even during extended periods of insufficient rainfall and at the same time provide spill into the exiting stream bed. The lake has been pulled down during periods of heavy construction of highways across the feeder streams to allow silt to return to the streams and pass thru thedrain gates. Buena Vista Dr crosses the lake in two places; one being the main dam and again on the Coe Branch inlet. Original construction of dams accommodated these crossings. Over the years sport fishing has been excellent with large mouth Bass, Crappie, Brem, Pike And Catfish, however fishing is limited due to private ownership of property including the lake basin.
