     If you came for an overnight stay Poplar Springs Campgrounds is a great spot to camp, and if you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites LAVONIA is a great choice. Reservoir 33 is a wet place that gets a large amount of rainfall; during March this area sees the most rain, and October is when it's the driest. Reservoir 32 is a tremendous lake near Reservoir 33, and why not camp at Sunset Campground while you're here at Reservoir 33. This lake is  
   so wonderful. At Reservoir 33 you always meet someone from Toccoa, and a good nearby hotel is Sleep Inn Lavonia.
All through the warm days of summer here at Reservoir 33, high temperatures usually get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and night lows at Reservoir 33 during the winter ordinarily drop into the 20's. This is no location for people who don’t like to have fun. A picturesque
 
               lake like Shady Lake close to Reservoir 33 is a great place to go to, and a perfect place for whitewater paddling is Shoal Creek.
You can run the rapids of Rice Creek close to Reservoir 33, and Clarks Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth checking out.

... and was constructed in the mid 1950's.
The shorelines are constant except in times of heavy rainfall and original life of lake was projected to exceed 100 years. Silt accumulation after 20 years was approximately .5 inche. Normal elevation is apporximately 800'. Feeder streams maintain lake levels even during extended periods of insufficient rainfall and at the same time provide spill into the exiting stream bed.
The lake has been pulled down during periods of heavy construction of highways across the feeder streams to allow silt to return to the streams and pass thru thedrain gates.
Buena Vista Dr crosses the lake in two places; one being the main dam and again on the Coe Branch inlet. Original construction of dams accommodated these crossings.
Over the years sport fishing has been excellent with large mouth Bass, Crappie, Brem, Pike And Catfish, however fishing is limited due to private ownership of property including the lake basin.
