    In Georgia there are many beautiful lakes, Reservoir 28 is one of them. Reservoir 28 is a wet place that gets much rainfall; March is when you get the most rain here, and October meanwhile is the driest month. High temperatures at Reservoir 28 throughout the days of summer are in the 80's while night lows are frequently in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's; night lows during the winter for Reservoir 28 tend to be in the 20's.

   Regency Inn & Suites is a good site to get some rest, and Reservoir 28 is not far at all from Toccoa. Nearby lakes? Sure, Reservoir 38 is in the neighborhood of Reservoir 28, and camping at Victoria Bryant State Park is always a wonderful experience. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Sleep Inn Lavonia is a splendid spot to spend a night or two, and if you come at the right time of year, Rice Creek offers some great whitewater.

               exciting things right next door to Reservoir 28 will keep you coming back over and over. Playing golf is lots of fun at Highland Walk Golf Course; Reservoir 28 is great enough to spend more than a day at, Poplar Springs Campgrounds is a great local campground. There are some good whitewater spots on Shoal Creek, and if you've had enough of Reservoir 28, Deans Lake is close by.

The shorelines are constant except in times of heavy rainfall and original life of lake was projected to exceed 100 years. Silt accumulation after 20 years was approximately .5 inche. Normal elevation is apporximately 800'. Feeder streams maintain lake levels even during extended periods of insufficient rainfall and at the same time provide spill into the exiting stream bed.
The lake has been pulled down during periods of heavy construction of highways across the feeder streams to allow silt to return to the streams and pass thru thedrain gates.
Buena Vista Dr crosses the lake in two places; one being the main dam and again on the Coe Branch inlet. Original construction of dams accommodated these crossings.
Over the years sport fishing has been excellent with large mouth Bass, Crappie, Brem, Pike And Catfish, however fishing is limited due to private ownership of property including the lake basin.
