Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Reservoir 27 while overnight lows are mostly in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Reservoir 27 temperatures dip to the 20's. Furnace Creek is a good local stream; the wonderful folks of Athens-Clarke County like to hang       out close by. This lake is so wonderful. And if that's not enough, there's a heap more to do in close proximity to Reservoir 27. Paddling on Rice Creek is so much fun, and Comfort Suites Downtown is a wonderful place to get some rest. Reservoir 27 sees pretty high levels of rain; the wettest month of the year is generally March, that's the one that rains the most while September is regularly the driest month. Reservoir 27 is in the neighborhood of Morgantown                  Baptist Association Dam which is a picturesque site unquestionably worth visiting, and a golf course nearby is Sunrise Golf Club. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is great on Broad River, and camping is available at Poplar Springs Campgrounds.
