Do stop by Reservoir 22 while you're in this part of Georgia. Sleepy Hollow Campground is a nice local campground; at Reservoir 22 you can catch a glimpse of Alec Mountain. Near Reservoir 22 you find good sites like Sautee Valley, and after a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Helen is a great location to spend a night or two. | | is a glorious site to camp nearby, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Alpine Helen. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at nearby Bassinger Pond, and going for a hike on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail is always a great adventure. 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 60's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 40's with temperatures at Reservoir 22 dipping down into the 20's all through winter nights. This
lake is so wonderful. Some of the water nearby flows, like Amos Creek, and needless to say, this is a great neighborhood for folks who like lakes, Sky Lake is a lake close at hand. The Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is always beautiful.
There's no way someone can get bored here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. You can run the rapids of Mud Creek right next door to Reservoir 22, and nearby you hit upon the Raven Cliff Falls Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail.
Lots of rain falls at Reservoir 22; through the month of March you get the most rain around here; October on the other hand is the driest. So much cool stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains, not sufficient time. Chattahoochee River is a great whitewater spot near Reservoir 22, and lots of folks from Cornelia come here.
