The beauty of Reservoir 14 attracts many people from all around. This lake is so wonderful. There are some pleasant whitewater spots on Rice Creek, and perhaps you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Reservoir 15 is just a very short distance away. What a location this is for outdoors people. Don't leave Reservoir 14 without first going for a hike along the Chattooga Trail, and Toccoa Rv Park & Campground is a magnificent local campground. Toccoa City

| | Golf Course is a tremendous golf course nearby; you're in all probability into lakes, North Fork Broad River is one of those nearby. Reservoir 14 gets a great deal of water; the wettest month of the year is generally March, that's the one that rains the most, and October is when it's the driest. North Broad River Structure Number One Dam is an interesting thing to check out, and Reservoir 14 is a place with many visitors from Toccoa. Dry warm beds await | |

you at Toccoa Days Inn; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Shoal Creek. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Knights Inn Toccoa is a delightful location to spend a night
or two, and why not camp at Sunset Campground while you're here at Reservoir 14. All through the warm months here at Reservoir 14, high temperatures frequently get into the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's.
The winter brings highs down to the 50's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Reservoir 14 temperatures drop to the 20's.

 | ...ake was projected to exceed 100 years. Silt accumulation after 20 years was approximately .5 inche. Normal elevation is apporximately 800'. Feeder streams maintain lake levels even during extended periods of insufficient rainfall and at the same time provide spill into the exiting stream bed. The lake has been pulled down during periods of heavy construction of highways across the feeder streams to allow silt to return to the streams and pass thru thedrain gates. Buena Vista Dr crosses the lake in two places; one being the main dam and again on the Coe Branch inlet. Original construction of dams accommodated these crossings. Over the years sport fishing has been excellent with large mouth Bass, Crappie, Brem, Pike And Catfish, however fishing is limited due to private ownership of property including the lake basin. The shorelines and surounding hills are populated with native hardwoods and pine, creating scenery which is unsurpassed in the area. I have several dozen that are dated Easter Sunday, 1945 (April 1st).? I have being attempting determine the location where these pics were taken.? The only thing grandmother can remember is a name:? Panther Creek Park.? She thought it was somewhere around Corniela.? I found this web page while doing a search for it.? I have included some pics.? The most obvious feature in a lot of this photos is a round brick object that people seemed to spend a lot of time lounging around.? I don't know what to actually call it.? Is this the right park??... |
