A lake nearby is Carters Lake; on a wonderful day you can take a hike along the Grassy Mountain Tower Trail. Reregulation Pool is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Fort Mountain State Park is a wonderful local campground, and if you come at the right time of year, Talking Rock Creek offers some great whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Emery Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood; Reregulation

| | Pool is not far at all from Calhoun. A perfect close by hotel is Best Western Fairwinds Inn & Suites; a quick visit to Mineral Springs Branch is certainly a tremendous idea.

Reregulation Pool. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 60's. Highs throughout the winter are typically in the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Reregulation Pool. The scenery at Carters Reregulation Dam near Reregulation
Pool is picturesque, and after a long day outdoors Key West Inn Chatsworth is a great place to spend a night or two.
This lake is so wonderful. Reregulation Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could stop at. Reregulation Pool
is a wet site that gets a good deal of rain; throughout the month of March you get the most rain around here, and October is the month with the least moisture.

| The General Store @ Eagle Mtn. now has Villa rentals to add to the enjoyment of paddling the Coosawattee, and can provide shuttle service to and from the river. Its a great place to spend the day, and now, you can even spend several days if you wish. Check them out!!...Ran the kayak trip from the General Store this past Memorial Day weekend it was great.The Store was full of customers, but they tried to make everyone feel very special. Great Folks and a great 2hr trip...The Coosawattee General Store is now offering kayaks/tubes for the stretch that runs through Coosawattee River Resort.... |

...sauga for the last few years I am very upset about the way people are treating the facilities offered there. As this area grows in popularity, and more and more people use it, I am saddened by the way this beautiful lake and mountian is being abused and trashed. The catch phrase ''Leave only your footprints'' applies to all US National Forests for a reason. One can only assume that you use this camping area for it's beauty and freshness, so why then do so many people leave it in such a mess? To have to pick up over 50 bags of trash, often left scattered about after a non-holiday weekend, is unreasonable. I don't mean to rant or nag, but, it isn't that hard to put a grocery bag in you pocket when fishing along the lake trail and walk out with the trash you create. The hosts in most camp grounds are volunteers and are unpaid. They pay for all of their own expenses to be there in order to keep the grounds and restrooms clean and stocked. So, PLEASE, read and obey the rules posted. Few places are as beautiful as our National Parks, please lets all make that small effort to keep them that... |
